European forum seminars

Two forthcoming seminars of the European Forum on 3-4-5 June 2009

The first seminar entitled ”Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices – Are they the same?” will deal with one of the core questions of restorative justice: the theoretical understanding of restorative justice and restorative practices, and their possible interrelatedness. The seminar will take place on the 3rd June 2009 from 9.30 till 12.30 in room 01.13 in the Nieuwe Valk building on the Faculty of Law, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Tiensestraat 41, 3000 Leuven, Belgium). This seminar is open to both members and non-members alike. There is no registration fee. To register, send an email – including your full contact details – to info@euforumrj.org before the 15th may 2009.

The second seminar entitled ”Building Social Support for Restorative Justice” will deal with ways and possibilities on working with the media, civil society organisations and citizens to support restorative justice. Through the highly interesting plenary and workshop presentations the seminar will bring in good examples of what it means to create social support and offer theoretical and practical insights for dealing with the three main channels of collaboration that we aim to engage with. This seminar will start right after the first seminar (”Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices – Are they the same?”), on the 3rd June 2009 and will last until the 5th June, lunch time. It will take place in the Nieuwe Valk building of the Faculty of Law, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Tiensestraat 41, 3000 Leuven, Belgium).
